Role summary

This is a full-time, onsite role (5 days per week) for a Data Engineer (AWS) based in Downtown Miami, FL.

As a Data Engineer at Tech Detectives, you will assist in building and maintaining scalable AWS-based data pipelines, modernizing legacy ETL workflows using cloud-native tools, and supporting end-to-end data flow developmentfrom ingestion to transformation and storage.

You will work directly with the founder and AWS architect, gaining hands-on exposure to modern data engineering patterns while contributing to high-impact, production-grade systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, values ownership.

What youll do

Build and support scalable AWS-based data pipelines used in production

Work on end-to-end data workflows (ingestion, transformation, storage)

Ensure data accuracy and reliability across multiple data sources

Own assigned deliverables from design through implementation

Collaborate closely with senior engineers and leadership

What were looking for

• Familiarity with AWS services. For example, Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lambda, IAM, DMS, and AppFlow
• Good understanding of data modeling best practices
• Good proficiency in SQL
• Working knowledge of Python
• Basic to intermediate understanding of Apache Spark
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a high-workload, fast-paced environment
