The Role: Junior Cyber Security Researcher

We are seeking a passionate and driven Junior Cyber Security Researcher to join our dynamic team. This is an on-site role, based in Columbus, OH, with the flexibility of occasional remote work. We're ideally looking for candidates who are currently in the Columbus area or are willing to relocate. Relocation assistance may be available for outstanding candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in cutting-edge security research, reverse engineering, and exploitation
  • Identify novel vulnerabilities in embedded devices through manual reverse engineering
  • Reverse engineering firmware file formats to develop unpackers
  • Use disassemblers to reverse engineer binaries to identify vulnerabilities in x86/64, ARM, MIPS and PPC assembler
  • Use and modify open-source tools such as QEMU to develop emulators for embedded devices
  • Develop proof of concept exploits for vulnerabilities in Python
  • Contribute to product development by automating aspects of manual reverse engineering process with Python
  • Actively participate in a Scrum environment tailored to both research and product development

Your Profile:

  • This is an on-site position in Columbus Ohio.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience or strong interest in embedded systems reverse engineering/vulnerability Research.

  • Familiarity with Security Research methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
