THE ROLE

As part of our design team, youll report to our Supervising Technical Artist and bridge the gap between our artists and engineers. You will apply an equal amount of knowledge about both disciplines to ensure the artistic vision and technical constraints of the project are met. This is the perfect role for someone with a passion for innovating and creating a large array of unique visual experiences.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and implement quests and experiences with satisfying and novel core mechanics and loops across a variety of content, including evergreen content, seasonal moments, and limited time events.
  • Partner with art and product teams to strategize and create compelling reward assets to drive desired user behavior, while managing the overall economy ecosystem.
  • Define and create best practices and frameworks that can be used to evaluate design quality, define tuning and iteration benchmarks, and evaluate releases against user goals and target metrics. Develop these frameworks into elegant processes that can be shared and aligned on with cross-functional teams and leaders.
  • Quickly solve issues with your cross-functional team, leveraging user research, data science, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Give and solicit real time feedback from other designers to continually raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product.
  • Be an advocate for the user experience from product conception to launch, as well as post-launch design support.
  • Clearly articulate game design decisions to a vast set of internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions in partnership with Design, Product, Art, and Leadership teams.

WHO YOU ARE

  • BS/BA in Games, Art, Interactive Media Design, or 3D Computer Animation, or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated expertise at understanding inner workings of a real-time game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc)
  • 10+ years of game design experience or a minimum of 2 shipped titles in AAA or indie game spaces.
  • Experience leading end-to-end development efforts and designing games or digital experiences from concept to launch.
  • Experience coordinating and collaborating with diverse cross functional teams to bring a game vision to life.
  • A portfolio that features some games you have prototyped or shipped, and showcases your game design skills .
  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills and able to work both in a team and independently
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and manage a project independently from start to finish
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • The annual compensation includes equity (per qualifications)
  • The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000 plus equity (per qualifications)
