Job Description

Overview Director, Government Relations at RG Fiber. Location: Savannah, GA; Atlanta, GA; or Chicago, IL. This role is the primary face of the company to municipal leaders, civic organizations, and community stakeholders across Southeast and Midwest markets. The role focuses on fostering trusted partnerships to pave the way for market entry, enable permitting and construction, and support ongoing operations. You will engage with local leaders and agencies, represent the company at public forums and events, and ensure RG Fiber remains a valued long-term partner in each market. Internally, you will collaborate across construction, operations, legal/regulatory, and sales to align community relationships with business objectives and accelerate growth. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role requiring strategic acumen and operational discipline. Responsibilities Develop and manage primary working relationships with municipal leaders, government agencies, chambers of commerce, economic development councils, and other stakeholders across current, under-construction, and future target markets. Maintain regular meetings and updates with key municipal contacts; represent RG Fiber at public hearings, council meetings, and civic events. Serve as the primary RG Fiber liaison and escalation point to maintain and improve relationships within communities served. Collaborate internally to navigate local permitting, regulatory, and other governmental processes. Partner with market expansion and regulatory teams to ensure registration and regulatory compliance in new markets. Align internal stakeholders from market approval through launch and initial customer activation. Evaluate and oversee external government relations agencies, consultants, and legal counsel as needed in new or legacy markets. Monitor and analyze government funding and public/private partnerships; help operationalize opportunities with Market Expansion leadership. Monitor competitors and industry trends affecting competitiveness; develop market and competitive intelligence reports and dashboards. Prepare and present findings and updates to senior executives. Requirements 10+ years in business development, market expansion, sales, or M&A roles. MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred, or equivalent experience. Deep knowledge of Cable/Telecom industries. Experience building new organizational capabilities and leading cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with intellectual rigor. Ability to work with construction, sales, engineering, and operations teams. Leadership experience managing multi-geography projects and teams. Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects with multiple stakeholders. Experience with project management and market development. Strong prioritization and clear communication with senior executives and external partners. Other Travel required: 50–60%+.
