Responsibilities The Alumni Advisor is expected to: Promote Alpha’s vision, mission, and values through community relationship building Identify, train and develop parent leaders in the principles and practices of community organizing Develop a network of teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to build power together in order to create a more equitable education system Work closely with the Director of Advocacy and Community Engagement to co-create Alpha’s organizing strategy and campaigns that support regional goals Complete 10-15 one-on-one relational meetings every week with current and potential parent leaders and other important stakeholders that build organizing capacity and engagement Work with parent leaders and staff to develop and implement a strategy for successful charter renewals Build the capacity of parents to understand the San Jose educational landscape, key decision makers, and the power of community Actively engage current and future Alpha parents in investing in their leadership skills through training and coaching Plan and coordinate large public forums and meetings, led by parent leaders Foster community relationships and develop champions among community-based organizations, faith leaders, elected officials, and civic leaders to build and sustain grassroots support for Alpha’s schools Serve as an ambassador for Alpha’s mission and advocacy What we offer At Alpha we care deeply about our scholars and staff. To support our team we offer: Competitive salary commensurate with experience. The starting salary is $70,725 and goes up based on experience.
