Job Description

Overview

Assistant/Associate Director, Leadership Annual Giving, (7547U), Intercollegiate Athletics - 79818 at UC Berkeley. This role focuses on fundraising and alumni relations within Cal Athletics, managing a portfolio of annual fund donors and supporting major gifts objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison to specific sports to provide alumni relations services to designated friends' groups and constituents. Designs, organizes, and implements targeted and cost-effective special alumni events and board meetings to advance alumni relations and fundraising engagement opportunities.
  • Provides programmatic support and assists in developing and executing mass solicitation strategies in support of annual initiatives for Cal Athletics.
  • Ensures that predetermined fundraising goals are met by providing strategy, analyzing progress, and working with stakeholders to increase outreach. Communicates to transactional donors attached to tickets to ensure requirements relating to ticket/donation packages are met.
  • Cultivates, solicits and steward annual fund donors: identify and manage a portfolio of annual fund prospects, establish relationships, design and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies, complete 10 to 15 substantive contacts per month with an emphasis on quality personal visits, and provide stewardship for assigned prospects.

Required Qualifications

  • Thorough working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the location, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, including creative and effective decision-making, problem identification/resolution, and project management skills.
  • Strong skills in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate on projects and assignments.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and quickly discern complex and competing interests.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

Education Level

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the institution, its mission, vision, goals, achievements, policies, and infrastructure.

Salary & Benefits

The budgeted salary or hourly range for this position is $91,500 - $100,000, commensurate with experience. This is a 100% full-time (40 hours per week), exempt position eligible for full UC benefits and paid monthly.
